October 2026 - Bryan Ledgard
Byran entertained us with a day of two halves.
Firstly his commissioned era of annual reports, carpets and steel. The days of spending several days constructing a room set only to be told that the cupboard doors should be red and not white. Days spent photographing music in the pit, rushing to get enough client shots before the third song ended.
Followed by his ‘un-commissioned’ free-wheeling photographs of everything and anything - reflections on the quirky, tattoos, dogs, the seaside, goths and anything else that takes his fancy. No longer a slave to the client, Bryan is his own client, doing what he wants and interestingly similar to a long lost relative photographer and early member of Leeds PS.
Bryan still thinks in editorial ways - holiday photos that could be magazine covers, rules of thirds, Fibonacci spirals, light and dark. A photographers photographer.
The golden rule - have your camera wherever you go. Shoot once, shoot fast and pre-empt the action or moment.
